Designed with a brushed aluminum face, and stylish simplistic look the Magnifica ESAM 3300 doesn't hold back.

Forget the fancy touch screens, and countless bits and bobs the ESAM 3300 espress machine has been designed with simplicity at the core. It comes with two programmable buttons, a built in steam wand, a couple of radio buttons that allow you to adjust the volume of the brew and the quantity of the grind with ease.

Whether you want half an ounce or the full 8 oz of volume, to kick start your batteries this machine can do it.

We do feel that some features could have been improved on, for example the low water indicator is just a red blinker on the front of the machine. We thought this could have had possibly a digital monitor, which will guide the user more effectively. This is the only way to see if you're low on water, besides pulling out the water tank.

The biggest benefit of this machine, is the bypass holder, allowing you to brew any type of ground coffee (perfect if you want to hold decaf).

Overall the design isn't bad value for money and it does everything it needs to.

The Delonghi Magnifica ESAM 3300 has a patented Direct-to-Brew system with Thermo Block technology that distributes heat evenly, providing excellent espresso each and every time.

Every cup get's brewed automatically, with it's predefined settings there is no need to think about how long you should brew every serve. Which makes it really simple for the every day coffee drinker.

The brew unit is easily accessible and can be removed when the machine is not in use, so that cleaning can be done.

We highly recommend not using oily beans, such as a dark roast espresso bean as this can lead to issues. This machine delivers the best espresso coffee when you use a medium roasted coffee bean.

Coffee Quality & Versatility – 4.0/5

The coffee quality you get is highly dependent on the best coffee beans that you use. If you use a poor quality bean, then you're going to get a poor quality espresso.

That said, if you invest in a high-quality bean, then the Magnifica ESAM3300 can produce some delicious cups of espresso.

You have the ability to program the grind size and volume so that you can get the perfect cup of coffee, every time. This machine is also able to make cappuccinos, lattes and all sorts of other coffee drinks with little effort.

Delonghi have done an excellent job at offering a mid class super-automatic espresso machine at an affordable price. You get all of the features that you would expect, as well as a couple of extra's.

The design isn't bad value for money and it does everything it needs to. Although not very cheap, the machine is definitely for someone wanting to make their espresso experience much more exhilarating.

Pros and Cons of the Delonghi Magnifica ESAM 3300

There are many pro's about the machine, which we've covered above. However let's dive straight into the cons.

The grinder can be slightly on the noisy side , however this is to be expected with most super-automatic espresso machines. This can be a problem if you have a baby in the house, or you're making coffee early in the morning.

The machine does have a 'steaming' wand, however this is only good for heating milk and frothing. It's not powerful enough to make actual steam, so if you're looking for a machine to make latte art – this isn't the one.

The machine only comes with one boiler, so if you're wanting to make multiple coffee's in quick succession, then you might have to wait a minute or two for the machine to reheat.

We highly recommend saving up for something a bit more advance if you're looking for a machine that has an LCD screen, and far more drink options to make.
